ProcurePro – 2019 A Year in Review
The holidays and a new year are quickly approaching, and what a whirlwind year this has been for us here at ProcurePro! It is a time of excitement but also a time to reflect on the accomplishments of the last year while looking ahead to the promise of 2020. We would like to share with you some of what we have been up to over the past year. What a year it has been!
Late in 2018 we held our annual Strategic Planning Session with some of our employees and key stakeholders. The feedback we received during this session was that while we have a lot of great ideas for growing our business, we really needed to become more laser focused on our overall goals and objectives.
Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail!
With that in mind, we created a plan for 2019 and focused our time and energy on:
- Growing our Client Base
- Brand & Company Awareness
- Expansion of Services
Guess what? Our focus paid off … this has been ProcurePro’s most successful year yet! So, what have we been up to you ask?
Growing our Client Base:
We began the year strong with two major client projects and added several more during the summer and fall making us the busiest, we have ever been! We are extremely proud to say that over half of our loyal and amazing clients have either extended our services with them or added additional projects to the scope of our services! They like us, they really, really like us!
How we assisted our amazing clients:
Procurement Services – Our core services focus on supporting our clients in research, managing competitive bids and contract negotiations.
- We helped a local not for profit, source a new Web Hosting services provider
- Led the research, managed the RFP and selection of a new Financial System for an environmental sustainability client
- Led the management of the RFQ and selection of a Salesforce Strategic Partners Program for that same client
- Led the management of the RFP, selection and negotiations of an Infrastructure and Storage Provider for a new client servicing the financial fund management sector
- Led the management of the RFP, selection, and negotiations of Managed Security Services Provider for that same client
- Kicked off a new project, again with the same client, to lead the management of an RFP and selection of a Strategic Services Partner Program to help our client manage a transformational technology program over the next five years
Project Management Services – While we began as a procurement consulting firm, our clients wanted our help with the process from end to end, beyond managing RFP’s and negotiations, we expanded our services in 2018 and 2019 to include Project Management oversight and support implementing the solutions we sourced including;
- Supported the development, testing and implementation of a custom, software solution for a heath benefits company
- Supported a media and entertainment client, our second, in the implementation of a new NetSuite financial system
Procurement Policies & Procedures
- Reviewed and provided recommendations on procurement policies and procedures
- Provided a framework for Procurement Methodology and training
- Provided a Financial Systems expert to assist with UAT, configuration and implementation
Here we Grow Again!
In order to facilitate this fantastic growth, our ProcurePro team has also grown from a small company that launched in 2013, we are now a growing team of nine certified professionals including: Project Managers, Procurement Consultants, Supply Chain Experts, Financial Systems Specialist and a Digital Marketing and IT Analyst.
Brand & Company Awareness:
To support our growth and ensure we had a robust funnel of new clients and projects we increased our efforts to improve our brand and company awareness by communicating more and putting ourselves out there for organizations to get to know who we are and what we can do for them.
The fall of 2018 and throughout, 2019, our monthly Newsletter, “On The Button” focused on sharing informative articles, tips and even included client testimonials. We also launched a direct email marketing campaign sharing our knowledge on “Implementing an ERP System – 10 Things to Consider First”.
Our CEO, Jill Button has been asked to speak at several events and was honored to be recognized as one of the “Top 100 Influential Women in Supply Chain by Supply Chain Canada”.
We’ve always been a proud member of the Durham Region business community and so ProcurePro took the opportunity to sponsor some local events including; sponsoring a hole at the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade Golf Tournament in the summer of 2019 and was an enthusiastic table sponsor for the Girls Inc. Durham, Power of The Purse. Sadly, our CEO lost out on several fabulous designer purses, the bidding was so fast and furious. There is always next year! We were also thrilled to be featured in a video blog from the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade. Our employees also get in on the act and have attended several workshops designed to create lead generation and attended local networking events.
Our hard work has paid off, we have had new clients and prospective clients reach out to us as a result of our newsletters, google placement and phenomenally, have been referred by other large enterprise consulting organizations, recommending our services. People are really getting to KNOW who we are!
Expand Service Offerings:
While we were so busy, we did not have time to launch anything new this year, we have been making progress on new service offerings that we are hoping to launch in 2020. Through discussions with our clients we have already seen early interest and cannot wait for us to Go Live. More to come on this in the New Year.
One of the new and most exciting things we have done is to create a strategic partnership with other organization in both HR Services and Digital Marketing Services. This helps to better round out and provide more comprehensive services to our clients and to the Small and Medium Business (SMB) space. We are looking to continue that expansion with other partners in IT, Finance and Legal Services. Stay tuned for an official announcement on this in early 2020 along with details of our new office space!
